An online learning opportunity presented by Brianna Miluk – The Paediatric Feeding SLP, where you can discover innovative strategies to create an inclusive and supportive environment for neurodiverse children.
This workshop replay will give you an opportunity to explore how to apply neurodiversity-affirming approaches effectively to enhance children’s feeding skills.
Neurodivergent diagnoses (e.g., Autism, ADHD) and potential related feeding difficulties will be described. You will gain an understanding of the differential diagnosis between paediatric feeding disorder (PFD), ‘picky eating’, and avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID).
Intervention philosophies and strategies will centre around a responsive, trauma-informed lens. Case examples will be provided to support application of knowledge into practice.
Upon completion of this workshop replay, you will be able to:
- Describe neurodiversity-affirming therapeutic model
- Compare differences between picky eating, PFD, and ARFID
- Explain 3 treatment strategies that are aligned with neurodiversity affirming practices
- Apply trauma-informed care principles into practice
Please note that the course content will be available once the live event has concluded (from 15 March 2024).
